Betfair Pirate Review (Updated 5th July)
By Chris • Jul 4th, 2010 • Category: Betfair Pirate Review, Betting System Reviews, Featured, Gambling Products For Sale On ClickbankIt’s the start of another week and therefore time for another betting product to be released.
This time it’s a product called Betfair Pirate that will be released on Tuesday 6th July
You can read the product details by clicking this link
Basically, it’s a combination of an automated betting bot and a horse-racing lay service. It is going to be ideal for those people who don’t have the time to set up a bot every day, or have time to place bets manually. The bot is set up once with your betting strategy and it then automatically gets the daily lay selections without you having to manually load them in.
The website claims that there has been extensive beta testing and shows several months of data plus results. They claim that they have so far made an average of 20 points profit per month.
I am currently negotiating for a free trial of the bot to be able to give a more detailed, ‘hands-on’ review of Betfair Pirate.
(UPDATE: I have now been given a free 3-month trial of the software. Such a long trial does give me more confidence in the product. I’ll try to get everything running in the next day or so & will probably produce a video showing the bot and my results)
In the meantime, take a look at the sales page – it isn’t full of obviously fake screenshots and doesn’t make wild claims about profitability. There is also some very sensible advice about staking that is in complete agreement with my own views.
I think this product is worth looking at. Here’s the link:
Latest update 5th July
I received the download instructions yesterday for the bot and soon had it set up & running OK. There was a small problem at one stage for which I sent an email to technical support. Their reply was prompt (less than 15 mins after my initial email) and they quickly resolved my problem. Good back-up support is – of course – a good sign of a quality product.
The bot itself is very simple. there are a well-written set of instructions with it – but to be honest, it is very intuitive and doesn’t have a huge array of parameters that you need to set up.
Once you have loaded the software and logged in to your Betfair account, the bot automatically gets the horse-racing data for the current day’s racing plus the following day. Now this is where some people will not be too happy. The lay selection information displayed on the screen consists solely of the race track and race time – the horse is not identified. I am sure this has been done to prevent certain unscrupulous tipsters from stealing the lays and using them on their own services.
You only find out the name of the horse when your bet has been matched. Also, the max and min lay odds and when the bet is put into the Betfair market are ‘hard-coded’ into the software ie you cannot currently alter them yourself.
You do however have a lot of control over your staking; whether you want level staking, fixed liability; stake as a percentage of your betting bank; and fixed liability as a percentage of your betting bank.
Two other features of note are:
- the option to run the bot with ‘paper trading’ (ie you don’t place actual bets into the market but the bot will record the results as if you had done so)
- the minimum stake is only 10p. This means you are not limited by the usual £2 Betfair stake requirement and can start will small stakes when you are ready to start using real money.
For today (5th July), there were quite a few selections but the bot was unable to get lay bets matched for quite a large percentage of them. However, at the time of writing this post (7.25 pm) I have had 5 bets placed by the bot and all have been successful!
Hopefully, this initial success will continue.
I will try to make a video in the next couple of days – so do come back to this blog. I will also – of course – keep posting about my progress.
My first impressions are certainly positive.

Chris,
You are lucky to get a free 3 month trial. The normal Lol ! person only got a month. But I can tell you now you will not find any fault in this because this is the real thing and support is second to none !! However I would like to know how you can tell there were several lays that did not get matched today because my bot only shows a selection at 90 secs from advertised start of race and all have been matched ! Perhaps you have been given a different model than ours?
Regards. Pete.

Mine is version 4.0.0.0 (only the brest and latest version for me!). it does sound as if you have an earlier version of the bot – mine shows all of the lay selections for the day and what happens with each selection. You’ll see more of what i mean when I get my video posted (hopefully later today)
I agree with you that it does – so far – look interesting.

The immediate attraction of Betfair Pirate is the ability to simply set and forget the software and check the profit later. Add to this the fact that it is already getting the “thumbs up” from several trusted sites and it is highly likely to receive a large number of subscribers. What will happen to the prices on Betfair when this happens? Is it an “urban myth” that a successfully promoted product has an adverse effect on prices, resulting in bets being unmatched? I seem to recall that “Winners Into Losers” – where everyone achieved the same selections – was amongst several systems cited as having the potential to influence Betfair prices. But then again, the next “wonder product” comes along to divert attention so the long-term effect might not be too bad. In my own case I think that this will be a case of “wait and see” in terms of overall performance during Chris’s 3 month trial in relation to the results and any identified problems getting bets matched.
Hi Keith
You are quite right to point out that there would be problems if too many people were allowed to subscribe. And even if a limit on the number of subscribers to the Betfair Pirate bot was introduced (as I suspect it will), problems could occur as existing users increased their stakes.
Having said that, there is usually quite a lot of money waiting to be matched on any horse race. At the moment, the bot is set to place lay bets into the market 90 secs before the race is due to start. It would certainly be possible for Betfair pirate to alter this time – maybe so that (say) 20 bots place their bets 180 secs before race time; a further 20 at 150 secs; another 20 at 120 secs, and so on. Spreading the betting load could get bets matched without having a dramatic impact on prices.
