Hi Keith

You are quite right to point out that there would be problems if too many people were allowed to subscribe. And even if a limit on the number of subscribers to the Betfair Pirate bot was introduced (as I suspect it will), problems could occur as existing users increased their stakes.

Having said that, there is usually quite a lot of money waiting to be matched on any horse race. At the moment, the bot is set to place lay bets into the market 90 secs before the race is due to start. It would certainly be possible for Betfair pirate to alter this time - maybe so that (say) 20 bots place their bets 180 secs before race time; a further 20 at 150 secs; another 20 at 120 secs, and so on. Spreading the betting load could get bets matched without having a dramatic impact on prices.

The immediate attraction of Betfair Pirate is the ability to simply set and forget the software and check the profit later. Add to this the fact that it is already getting the "thumbs up" from several trusted sites and it is highly likely to receive a large number of subscribers. What will happen to the prices on Betfair when this happens? Is it an "urban myth" that a successfully promoted product has an adverse effect on prices, resulting in bets being unmatched? I seem to recall that "Winners Into Losers" - where everyone achieved the same selections - was amongst several systems cited as having the potential to influence Betfair prices. But then again, the next "wonder product" comes along to divert attention so the long-term effect might not be too bad. In my own case I think that this will be a case of "wait and see" in terms of overall performance during Chris's 3 month trial in relation to the results and any identified problems getting bets matched.

Pete

Mine is version 4.0.0.0 (only the brest and latest version for me!). it does sound as if you have an earlier version of the bot - mine shows all of the lay selections for the day and what happens with each selection. You'll see more of what i mean when I get my video posted (hopefully later today)

I agree with you that it does - so far - look interesting.

Chris,

You are lucky to get a free 3 month trial. The normal Lol ! person only got a month. But I can tell you now you will not find any fault in this because this is the real thing and support is second to none !! However I would like to know how you can tell there were several lays that did not get matched today because my bot only shows a selection at 90 secs from advertised start of race and all have been matched ! Perhaps you have been given a different model than ours?
Regards. Pete.
