<description>I don&#039;t use a min price cut-off for bets because I haven&#039;t seen any evidence that there is a correlation between a dog or a horse winning and its price. Remember, that all of my systems are essentially using form to determine the probability of the horse/dog winning - we are not deflected by the amount of money that is being bet on a selection. Money usually distorts the odds market (usually because bookmakers are manipulating their book to be profitable) and does not reflect the true chances that our selection will win or lose.

You also need to bear in mind that even if a selection is a very short price, every bet matched on Betfair needs a layer as well as a backer. In short, for every bettor that believes a dog/horse will win, then there is a layer who believes the opposite.

		<description>Hi Chris,
Thanks a lot for all the help you offer. Your &quot;pearls of wisdom&quot; are a tremendous asset to the would be pro gambler.
However, I note that whilst you have suggested how to calculate the maximum backer odds to accept - dependent on strike rate - you dont mention a minium backer odds.
I have thought that by not backing a selection that turns out to be short with lots of win money on it, you protect yourself from some predictable losses.
Any thoughts on this ?
Cheers
